My Beloved Sand Boa
9/17/94 - 3/10/99

Born the day of my 13th Birthday and bought with my Bat Mitzvah money, Kenya was the best snake anyone could have hoped for. She never talked back or had a bad attitude. She always did what she was told and didn't complain when little kids squeezed her too hard. She ate her whole meal. She never got mad at me if I hadn't cleaned out her cage in a while. She was always patient when she was having trouble shedding and I needed to help her. Even when she started to get sick, she was so quiet about it that I didn't figure it out for a while. Sadly, Kenya had a string of bad illnesses --respiratory infection, mouth rot, and eventually, dehydration-- that led to her passing. She was too weak to drink or eat anything. The doctors did all they could, but alas, her sickness was too great for any medication to help her. Kenya will always be remembered for her goodnaturedness and happy-go-lucky attitude. She will be missed.
